Privacy Policy

Effective date: May 23, 2026 · A product of SanctumTools LLC ("we," "us").

We built this tool for people living paycheck to paycheck, and we built privacy in from the start. This policy explains what we collect, what we deliberately don't, and how your information is handled.

1. What we collect

• Account information (from Google sign-in). When you sign in with Google, we receive your email address and basic profile information (such as your name) so we can create and secure your account.
• The budget information you enter ("Your Content"). Income amounts and pay dates, bill names/amounts/due dates, spending entries, household member names you add, and savings goals.
• Limited technical data. Basic operational data needed to run a modern app (e.g., crash/error information, and subscription status for the optional paid tier). We keep this minimal.

2. What we deliberately do NOT collect

• Bank account numbers, routing numbers, or card numbers.
• Bank login credentials or any direct connection to your financial accounts.
• Health data. (This is a budgeting tool — not the SanctumTools wellness app.)

You can't leak what you don't collect. Avoiding banking data is a privacy and security choice, by design.

3. How your information is stored and protected

• Cloud storage. Your account and budget are stored using Google Firebase (Authentication + Firestore), hosted in the United States. This is what lets your budget sync across your devices.
• Encryption. Your data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest on Google's infrastructure.
• Honest limit. This is not end-to-end encryption. We — and our infrastructure provider — can technically access Your Content in order to provide, support, and troubleshoot the service. We restrict that access to operating the app, and we never sell your data or use it for ads.
• No security is perfect; we can't guarantee absolute security, but we use commercially reasonable safeguards.

4. How we use information

We use your information only to provide and maintain the Service: to create and secure your account, store and sync Your Content across your devices, process the optional subscription, and fix problems. We do not use it for advertising and we do not sell it.

5. Service providers

• Google Firebase — authentication (Google sign-in) and cloud database (storing/syncing your budget).
• Apple App Store / Google Play — to sell and manage the optional paid "Household" subscription (when offered).

These providers process data only as needed to perform their function.

6. Sharing & disclosure

We do not sell or rent your information. We may disclose information only if required by law (e.g., a valid legal order), or as needed to operate the service through the providers above.

7. Your choices, retention & deletion

• You can edit or delete your entries at any time within the app.
• You can export a copy of your budget (the Back up button) anytime.
• You can request deletion of your account and its data by emailing melanie@sanctumtools.com; we remove your stored data on deletion.
• We retain Your Content while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward, then delete it.

8. Children

The Service is intended for adults (18+) and is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction); we do not knowingly collect their information.

9. International users

The Service is operated in the United States and your information is stored and processed in the U.S. If you use it from elsewhere, you consent to that transfer.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy; material changes will be posted with a new effective date.
